October 17th, 2008- "Lettuce is indeed humming along -- we are taking the setup to full capacity. We are branching out to cress, mizuna, pac choi,

"First of all, let me rave again about the R.O. system. The difference in our
lettuce is incredible. Everything is improved -- yield, color, leafiness. There is
even a difference in how the plants grow upright -- you can see improved
sturdiness in the new leaves, even though they are as large or larger than the
leaves that grew pre-RO. I wish we had taken the plunge right at the
beginning -- I probably spent most of that amount on extra fertilizer, pH Down,
and forfeited yield!
We are now testing whether our lettuce bases will grow back after cutting.
The roots are so long, branched, and clean, that I bet we will -- we could cut
our baby lettuce harvests to 14 days if it worked. We cut the lettuce
yesterday, but there was no root die-back as of 6pm this evening."- Dr
