Plants grown under LED Grow Master lighting will exhibit different characteristics than
plants grown under HID or other traditional plant lighting. For example, instead of an 18
inch high stretching HPS plant with 10-14 branching segments, you may have 12 inch
plants with 10-14 branching segments. This is a desirable trait that allows for more plants
to be grown in a given area. The large size of plants grown under traditional indoor
lighting is partially due to stretching of the plants reaching for quality wavelengths.
More than 95% of the light emitted from our LED grow lights is in the peak absorption
range, meaning the plants are able to absorb and use the wavelengths provided for
growth and health. High heat light sources such as HPS and Halide emit mostly heat. For
every 1000 watts of electricity used- approximately 750 watts is heat. When you remove
this heat you have dramatically changed your grow environment. We often recommend a
hybrid system to ease the transition if there is no sunlight available.
Plants grown under LED grow lights will grow slower without the intense heat of a radiant
light source applied directly to the plant canopy. LED plants exhibit natural growth rates
(as one would expect to see outdoors. To speed up the process- many growers are using
their HID lighting for short periods of time throughout the day to heat up the canopy and
then running our LED grow lights 24 hours. This system has the ability to increase growth
rates and deliver a 75% decrease in electricity used when compared to a straight HID
system.

Peppers Growing Under LED Grow Lights
Plants will grow differently under different grow lights.
LED grow lights are no exception.
