LED Gardener

    A Higher Standard- Part 2
LED's are one of the most rapidly developing technologies in the world. Many in
the industry refer to this phenomenon as Haitz's Law, after Roland Haitz who first
forecasted this theory which has held true for over 30 years:  LEDs will double in
output every 18-24 months.  According to this law- our engineers are setting a new
pace by reaching this goal in roughly 12 month cycles.  Thus was born the third
LED Grow Master model (second in our series). the LGM3...
The LGM3 is our professional bar.  We discovered that by adding more blues and
additional red LEDs, we were able to enhance the blooming power of our led grow
lights by 300%.  We recommend the LGM3 for all stages of plant growth.  This
model will provide robust, compact growth, while actively promoting blooming.
The LGM3 is designed for maximum performance at the manufacturer's
recommended hanging height of 18"-12" inches.  This recommended height is for
one professional bar hung alone.  When the LGM3 is placed in a multi-bar array (4
or more on a SunMount) the light from each cluster blends and intensifies the light
emitted.  When used in this configuration the bars need to be 30"-24" away from the
tops or sides of your plants.  Remember that the minimum distance for the led grow
lights is just that- a minimum.  Improper mounting of the light bar too close to the
plants will slow vertical growth, stressed clippings, slow seed growth, and cause
    uneven growth in your plants.
One LGM3 will provide excellent coverage over a 1' x 3' area.  This coverage is
increased when used in a multi-bar array or when used as supplemental lighting.
The LED Grow Master bars can be used alone or as a way to add light to your
current system without increasing environmental temperatures and adding only
pennies to your monthly electric bill.  Check out October's issue and we'll tell you
about our next leap in output- the LGM5.  --AL

    Calling All Pioneers
A pioneer blazes the trail for those who will follow behind.  Pioneers give us new
things to do and new ways of doing things we already do.  They are ingenious.
They are full of the will to discover.  As Galileo once said "All truths are easy to
understand once they are discovered; the point is to discover them."
LED Grow Master is seeking pioneers.  We want pioneers of LED grow
mediums.  Your company could formulate a grow medium ideally suited for a non-
radiant light source.   We want pioneers of space.  You could be the first to grow
plants where plants could never be grown before the advent of LEDs (shipping
crates anyone?).  We want pioneers of method.  Does the Cattleya grow best when
an LGM5 bar is mounted 20" from the plant or does it grow best at 22".  ?   With the
variety of plants and methods of growing used on the planet today- all LED
gardeners are pioneers.  We advance the science every time we plant a new variety
    or try a new method.
Calling all pioneers.  There are likely over 300,000 different plant species on
earth.  You could be the first to grow your species under LEDs.  Take pictures and
notes. Help blaze the trail and hold yourself to your rightful place in history as a
    pioneer in LED gardening.  --AL

    Cost Considerations
    Electricity Costs vs. HPS

    *Generalized coverage area.
    Peripheral Equipment
  • LED Grow Master lighting requires no ballast.
  • LED Grow Master lighting requires no reflector.

    Replacement Costs
  • Replacing bulbs and ballasts is a recurring cost of traditional lighting.  LED Grow
Master bulbs are rated for 8-10 years of 24/7 operation with no light degradation.

    Heat Management
  • HPS lighting creates a great deal of waste heat that must be ventilated in warm
weather when the price of electricity is at its peak.  LGM products put off only trace
    amounts of heat.

    Disposal Costs
  • HPS and fluorescent lighting is considered hazardous waste and requires
special disposal that includes fees.  LED Grow Master lighting contains no
mercury, lead, or glass parts.  This not only saves you money but also makes
them a safe choice for people and the environment.

    Water Use
  • Plants will use less water under LED lighting. (Little Radiated Heat)

    Nutrient Use
  • We recommend using 1/2 the nutrients recommended when gardening under
    LEDs.
