LED Grow Lights for Hunger
The World produces enough food to feed everyone.  Hunger exists
because not everyone has access to land or the resources to grow their
own.  LED Grow Master Global will address the  problem from both ends.

Until the end of 2009- clients ordering  6 or more LED grow lights
through our website will be given the option of sending one additional
LGM1 grow light free of charge or a $100.00 cash donation to any one of
    the charities listed below:

#1- FEEDING AMERICA- For every $1 you donate, Feeding America helps
provide 10 pounds of food and grocery products to men, women and
children facing hunger in our country.

    #2-ACTION AGAINST HUNGER-Action Against Hunger's nutrition programs
treat and prevent acute malnutrition in those most vulnerable, including
young children and women who are pregnant or nursing. The programs
are launched most often during times of crisis—when an earthquake
devastates a city, when civil war tears apart a country, when drought leads
to famine, when families flee violence only to confront hunger.

#3-THE HUNGER PROJECT- The Hunger Project empowers people to
meet their own basic needs and build better futures for their children.

Our website shopping cart contains a "Special Requests" section.  In
order to make your donation- simply enter the number of your charity
along with the word "LED" or "Cash".

“If you can't feed a hundred people, then just feed one.”-Mother Teresa

LED/HPS Hybrid Systems
When gardening indoors without the use of any natural light- for the
majority of applications, using LED grow lighting in a hybrid system will
achieve the best results.  Most indoor gardeners utilizing an area without a
window have already developed a routine under HID lighting.  A major
problem with HID lighting is the high electricity costs and heat management
issues.  Using the LGM5 LED grow lights in a hybrid system with HPS is a
solution to these problems as well as one of the easiest ways to see the
benefits of LED grow lighting without changing your overall routine.
Let’s say you are using a 1000 watt HPS system.  For each of these
lights to run 16 hours a day the cost of electricity for the bulb alone (the
ballast uses additional electricity) at .10 cents per kWh is almost $600.00 a
year- just to run that one lamp.  The point being that HID lighting is
expensive to operate. Most of us are paying more than .10 cents per kWh
and it is safe to assume the price of electricity will continue to rise over the
next 17 years (the rated lifespan of our LEDs when operated 16 hours a
    day.)
The LED/HID hybrid system originates from Jonathan Cardinale, the
founder of LED Grow Master.  Jonathan tells us: “Utilizing the hybrid
system can reduce electrical costs up to 85%, reduce cooling costs
substantially, decrease the cost of bulb/ballast replacements, and still
provide the results people are striving for. Here is an example of one
method of running the hybrid system:  Instead of running your 1000 watts
of HPS for 16 hours a day, you run it only ¼ of the time.  Turn the HPS on
for ½ an hour every 2 hours and run six 9 watt LED light bars for the full 16
hour photoperiod.  The HPS is basically providing the radiant heat and the
LEDs provide quality light.  The beauty of this system is you use your HPS
as your climate control, while the HPS is stimulating faster growth rates
making just enough heat for your plants to thrive”
If we use the same variables to do our math again, factoring
electricity costs using the LED grow lights with HPS, it works like this:
Running your LED grow lighting for 16 hours and running the HPS only 4,
your electrical costs are reduced to only $178.00 per year.  This gives the
hybrid gardener an extra $422.00 in their pocket per garden plot based on
a single HID change, and increases proportionally in larger multiple bulb
operations The energy savings quickly pay off the initial investment in LED
grow lights.  This is just one example of how LED grow lighting can
dramatically increase the efficiency of your system while maintaining the
growth rates indoor gardeners have come to expect.  --AL
